The Centre for Research, Training and publications (CRTP) conducted a training on Leadership and governance, organizational structure, project planning and management in Migori and Kwale Counties as part of initiatives for Environmental Advocacy Support in Extractive Industries (EASEI). The workshop was conducted for two days between 20th to 21st May 2024 for Migori and 27th to 28th May, 2024 for Kwale . The training was attended by 30 participants who were selected from the 8 groups the CRTP has been working with in implementing the Environmental Advocacy Support in Extractive Industry Project to promote environmental conservation and protection. The training covered the following thematic areas

  • Leadership and Governance
  • Leadership and Organizational structure
  • Project planning and management

The purpose of the training was to

  1. To equip the participants with skills on  how to manage and run their groups
  2. To train the participants on project planning and management skills for effective group project management
  3. To promote individuals management and leadership skills

During the training it was evident that there is need for the groups to optimize the use  of available resources and use them efficiently for achievement of  the set goals and objectives  for the groups as well as the project.
